last updated 30 September 2007
These policies apply to websites and domains managed by Walker-McCulloch Internet Services which include:
www.deland-enterprises.com
www.delandenterprises.com
www.calfcreek.net
We have implemented a number of
aggressive tools and policies to reduce the volume of spam and
malicious email content received by our clients and users.
In simple terms, spam, unsolicited commercial email, and other unwanted email will not be tolerated.
Our Spam Fighting Tools:
Walker-McCulloch Internet Services Email Management System
Monitors and filters all email on all servers currently
being managed Walker-McCulloch Internet Services Email Management
System including
www.calfcreek.net, www.delandenterprises.com, and
www.deland-enterprises.com. Our system uses a wide variety of
mechanisms including header and text analysis, bayesian filtering, dns
blacklists / blocklists, and various filtering databases. We also use
customized blacklist and whitelist databases which reject email from
most non - us and non standard top level domains as well as specific
domains and email addresses known to be sources of large amounts of
spam.
An example would be "hotmail.com".
Our system also filters and rejects most email which contains sexually
explicit content, messages which contain images with no text, messages
which contain large amounts of HTML code with little or no text, and
email which contains certain common spam words / phrases or links to
known spam websites.
Other Information:
We closely monitor our email system and work closely with other
Internet Services Providers, law enforcement authorities, various state
and federal agencies, and some private organizations in an aggressive
attempt to stop spam and unsolicited commercial email. Information
about spammers or persons using email to commit or attempt to commit
criminal activity may be turned over to appropriate authorities for
investigation. We also reserve the right to bring civil court action
against persons abusing or attempting to abuse our email system.
Questions:
We have very high confidence that the spam fighting policies we
have implemented are reliable and accurate. However, if you are a real
person attempting to send legitimate email to one of the email
addresses on one of our systems and that email is being incorrectly
blocked by one or more of our spam tools, try one of these suggestions:
1) Make sure you are sending your email from a legitimate email service and account.
Email from anonymous remailers and domains known to harbor spammers,
(for example, mail.com and hotmail.com), are not allowed and will be
blocked.
2) Make sure that your email does not contain sexually explicit language or links to sexually explicit websites.
3) If your email contains no text or very little text, (only images or html code), it may be blocked.
